Hi all, it’s been a long while since my last blog entry. Apologies for my sudden long hiatus.
Well, the term break has finally come. The past few months was indeed a harrowing period for me and boy am i glad that everything is over.
I believe that i have been neglecting this blog for a long time and this may leave most of my readers in the dark. Well fear not, i be updating this blog with the projects i did in the first semester of my course in a series of blog postings in the weeks to come.
So let me start off with my (Model making & Construction techniques 1) final project. The aim of this project was to build an organic form or shape made entirely of corrugated board using the means of interlocking to put it together. This means no adhesive (glue) is allowed to be used in the construction of this model.
I decided to go with the organic form of a bull. The following pictures show my completed bull model.

Boy! It sure was a long time since i published my last blog entry. I do apologize for my rather irregular blog postings. Poly life has indeed taken away a huge chunk of my once carefree social lifestyle. In fact this could be my last post for now (thats is until my next term break).
As i have many projects (to be exact 5 projects) to be completed within a short time period of two weeks. I would like to keep this entry short and sweet.
So let me fill you up on what i am doing now at the moment.

This photo shows the work i have been doing for a Colour Studies project.
Basically the project is about color transitions. Colour transitions meaning the transformation of one colour to another from time to time. Examples: The four seasons, dawn to dust, sunrise to sunset….
Well i decided to choose the changes in colours of a crab from the ocean floor right to the serving dish. Well i have drawn four different scenarios to be viewed from left to right. If you look carefully, you might know what approach i am taking.
I am not quite finished with the project yet ( Fun fact: This artwork took timothy 120 hours to be done. You do the math.) But i will show you my final work by uploading a photo right here. (if i have the time)
Do comment on my work. Criticise it if you will. I do need some motivation.

Well! Guess who’s back ? Before i get down to do some serious blogging. I have to share with you some of the most insane things which i found that is being sold online .
Introducing the Steve Jobs doll. Mac Fans would snuggle it in bed at night while probably Microsoft chairman Steve Ballmer would practice voodoo on it. Expect this doll to have a cameo appearance in the next few apple events. But like anything that is related to apple, does not come cheap. It cost US$27.99 (S$42.41) and it is officially sold at Podbrix. But to own Apple CEO as their very own plaything is worth the money to some people.
“Plush Jobs love you. Cuddle him up and maybe he will whisper some corporate secrets with you.” Awww how sweet … That was a quote from the website promoting this doll. But seriously i personally think a Phil Schiller doll would be a better huggle buddy. Anyway, don’t expect the Steve Jobs doll to replace tickle-me-elmo doll on any kid’s Christmas list any sooner.

You must be wondering why haven’t i been blogging lately. Well, it seems that i am having difficulties getting online. No, it is not because my internet is down but rather my macbook has been simply taken away for a very silly reason which i have already disclosed to some of my friends. But fear not, the kidnapper of my macbook has agreed to return it to me around early April. I’ll be updating my blog with the happenings occured during the month of March once i get it back. So until then………….

Wow! What a week, a damn hectic one i must say. In due to my recent posting to Nanyang Polytechnic’s industrial design course, i have been taking lessons on a design software tool called AutoCAD 2009.
In the effort of bettering myself (as i often say), i took the initiative to look up and find the appropriate computer program which can aid me in my designs. I manage to find a training center to teach me this much acquired skill and it cost a bomb. Thankfully, i have some subsidies , my dad, who kindly paid in full for the lessons.
So practically, i have been heading down to the training center (which so happens to be conveniently located within the central business district) daily for the past six days at around 7 am ( morning rush hours) and ends around 5.30 pm ( afternoon rush hours). So i would personally like to apologize to those people who had been trying to reach me for the past week.
Well, enough said about the past week. Today, i headed down to Chinatown with my grandparents to mainly accompany them in their sudden wish to visit the place. And this marked the first time in two years my grandparents ever visited any place beyond the Serangoon district. The last time my grandparents visited Chinatown was roughly three years ago, i know as i was the one person who accompanied them there three years ago. We headed to the hawker center located near OG and to my grandfather’s delight, he discovered that his favorite Yong Tau Foo store was still there but ran by a different person, maybe the Hawker’s son. Long queues formed at the store and we not had the chance to eat that particular dish, maybe next time.
Next, my grandpa showed me his usual hangouts along Chinatown. Stores of massage parlors soon came into sight. Each store mostly mend by women. My grandpa then told me that he would often head to either one of these massage parlors after work in the past. And he whispered to me that these women do more than just a massage. I immediately gave a brief giggle indicating that i understood what he meant.
Well, i enjoy the little time i spent with my grandfather and the stuff he shares with me do make me realize how fortunate i am to live in this era. My grandpa had sure lived a fruitful and meaningful life and i do wish to have the same blissful fate he is in.

Yes…. i know it is a little too late to do a top 5 albums of 2008. I actually intended to do it in December last year but i was facing some internet difficulties. But it is better late than never right?
These albums are ranked according to the number of times i listen to them, the likeliness of them to calm me down during the examination period and of course the beats, the rhythm and the lyrics. So here is it Tim’s Top 5 albums of 2008
5.Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends-Coldplay
Viva la Vida, is a Spanish phrase which translates into English as “long live life”. The members of Coldplay are indeed living their life to the fullest with their latest album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. With this album they portrayed a sense of intense concentration throughout this fastened album, reaching out to a wider field of musical genres.
4.In Rainbows-Radiohead
Like the pot of gold found at the end of the rainbow, Radiohead has found new abstract yet sensual sounds in their latest album, In Rainbow. Radiohead has created an album of accessible music that clearly relates to the beauty in their songs.
3.Kiss My Astro-Astroninja
Looking for fresh hardcore punk-rock hits? Well, look no further than our own Singapore shores. Astroninja has all what it takes to make good punk music despite the nonsensical lyrics and occasional swearing in their songs. Overall this album will give you some serious head-banging.
2.Fleet Foxes-Fleet Foxes
There is only one word to describe this album , “beautiful”. One of the finest debuts of 2008, the indie folk band from Seattle has put together a musical masterpiece. The band has re-invented music for the soul with enchanting hymns and solemn tunes. Indeed a whole new offering to the world of folk music.
1.B-Quartet-Tomorrow Is Our Permanent Address
A perfect example of brilliant S-Rock. The home grown four-piece band ended the dry spell in the Singapore’s local music scene. B-Quartet are dubbed as Singapore’s version of Radiohead and are indeed living up to their standards. This album is packed with alternative-rock anthems and poetic lyrics which make you want to dance to the band’s addictive beats.
